The first step in the process is to submit a letter of inquiry (LOI) to us following the guidelines posted here. Please do not submit a full proposal to us without first being invited by our staff to do so. Decisions on LOIs will be conveyed at least one month prior to the proposal deadline to allow invited applicants time to prepare their full proposals.
Our trustees meet twice a year to review proposals, typically in August and December, and funding decisions are communicated within four weeks of the meeting.
The dates for submission of LOIs and proposals are as follows:
For the August 2021 meeting:
- LOI accepted: 15 February to 31 March 2021
- Proposal deadline: 4 June 2021
For the December 2021 meeting:
- LOI accepted: 5 July to 20 August 2021
- Proposal deadline: 8 October 2021

If a proposal has been denied for funding, please wait 12 months from the date of your original proposal application to submit a new request to us.
